How to Feel what you Believe

You’ve done what you needed to do to obtain peace in your life, but a new problem has emerged. You no longer believe the lies and gaslighting that you experienced in a previous life, but now you are having a difficult time embracing your new reality. You don’t believe the falsehoods anymore, but something is inhibiting you from fully living out your truth. The bondage of low self-esteem, insecurity, negative influences, and the like no longer define your context, but for some reason you are still allowing yourself to live in that space.

You didn’t like when they called you ugly but part of you believed it. People said you wouldn’t be a leader or amount to anything, and you wanted them to stop. Well guess what they stopped, but you keep telling yourself some of the things they said. You didn’t like the people in your sphere of influence so now they are gone, but every now and again a thought of someone who mistreated you flashes in your mind, and you start wondering all about what could’ve, would’ve, and should’ve happened.

Give Yourself Time to Grieve

There are likely several different things at play here. For starters you could be experiencing grief. The five stages of grief include denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. At the loss of something it’s normal to need time to grieve. Grief can be an interesting experience because you don’t necessarily know all of what may cause you to have a grief-stricken response.
