You Don’t Need Permission to Make a Difference

I want to say that right now, it takes effort for me to do this. I don’t know how to get past this place without talking about it. Writing is an easy target because it’s our bread and butter; but in general and specifically with respect to the process of creating and publishing content of any kind multiple times per week, again, particularly with respect to also having additional responsibilities, is not like it once was. At least not at the moment it’s not.

It’s kind of a weird experience to not necessarily have much to say, but you still need to put ideas in the world. I’m not ungrateful and I say in another recently published piece that, I do feel in some respects that I bit off more than I can chew. When I think about it critically, I just have a lot on my plate that I am managing and it’s not that this isn’t important, but rather, I feel as though I haven’t been all that dynamic in the last couple of weeks.

I am finding that talking about those feelings is helping me process them. But now, the topic that I want to highlight is how young millennials and generation Z at least, are continuing to be shafted economically and similarly certainly in the United States, and possibly abroad. I’ve talked about this in a different capacity but what rekindled this flame is that I went to the supermarket this week to purchase a tobacco product, and the cashier was prompted by the cash register to verify that I was at least 30 years old.
