People are encouraged to or are celebrated for having a “good head on their shoulders.” Men benefit a great deal from nice shoulders whether it be with respect to being more attractive to women or being able to easier ingratiate ourselves to the general schemas and expectations of a man. Your shoulders are made up of three main groups of muscles, your front, middle, and rear deltoids. From a functional perspective your shoulders help you lift objects, reach around you and above your head, and engage in similar levels of activity to varying degrees.
