Being a spiritual being having a physical experience is one of the core tenets of what we stand for at Life with Ken. Life with Ken isn’t a religious platform or a church, but I, Kenneth Wyche, am a Christian, and another tenet of ours is that who you are is more important and should inform what you do, and not the other way around. As you do you become but before you do you think and before you ever had anything in particular to think about you were already conscious and already had the ability to think. Your existence mattering before you ever do anything and after you’ve done everything you’ve put your mind to is your spirit and the spirit world at large.
I think therefore I am – René Descartes
“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” – Genesis 1:26
“And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.” – Exodus 3:14
Spirit is abstract. The first thing that comes to mind when I think about spirit in a secular sense is school spirit or sports. Secondly, music and the music industry come to mind. The third thing I think of is spirits, or alcohol. A lot of people stay right here. There is nothing else they may feel they need to know about a spirit. Maybe you went to church growing up. Maybe you “felt something once.” Or maybe you carried with you words of wisdom from someone in your life.
Beyond a personal encounter with something other worldly the spirit or spirit world can still seem anecdotal at best. A lot of religions exist in the realm of storytelling. Jesus was known for his storytelling, or parables and sermons. There is an objective connection between words and the spirit world. In a conversation like this I feel a little bad referencing the Bible exclusively as a source of spiritual authority. I’m not going to play in your face like that so here is a [further] disclaimer:
I took a religious studies class in college. I respect those who believe whatever they believe and worship however they worship. This article is about a place called the spirit world. Other realms of thought have other names for it but spirit world is a pretty common name. This place is one of probably other parallel realities that exist in the universe. In addition to words which I will get back to in a moment, emotions, and money are other ways you interact with the spirit world. We discuss spiritual topics throughout Life with Ken and additional resources are linked below. All of that said, as a human, no matter what you believe your decisions allow you to interact with the spiritual world. The Bible of which I would naturally know more about is filled with spiritual concepts and is the most popular spiritual text of all time. Therefore, I acknowledge that you may believe differently than I as this article progresses but the point is we are discussing the same place NOT religious practices.
The Bible says that in the beginning was the word. It also says that in the beginning God used words to create the world. There is power in the letters that you choose and how you choose to group them together. Words in the spirit are power. Emotions are how you interact with the spirit. If you play RPG videogames, think when you have the option to interact with something in the overworld. And money and how you use it is an expression of what you value/what is important to you, in the spirit world. These are things you do every day, speak, feel things, and manage your personal finances.

These practical concepts that you may take for granted, witches, warlocks and those who deal in the dark arts, prey on. It may make you feel better to ignore it or call it a coincidence, but other people plot on your ignorance. “Ignroance is bliss” is a spell. One of the first “rules” of being evil is thinking that your victims are dumb or stupid. The Bible says that the devil, the head honcho of evil in the spirit world, deceived Eve into eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The devil didn’t go to Adam and he confused God’s words to confuse Eve. That’s another thing you brothers do in the spirit, stop playing telephone. If it comes with several degrees of he-said she-said, then God didn’t say it.
To be fair to Eve, the Bible says that she rebutted the devil, but it wasn’t enough. Evil wants you to be dumb and naive so it can run its games on you. Yes there is this thing called evil. The devil who I previously referenced is called the king or ruler of this world. This world, meaning the one you and I inhabit as you read this article. The devil made a name for himself by rebelling against God and getting 1/3 of creation to rebel with him. Chronologically this takes place before humans arrive.
The origins of the spirit world are as follows as I understand them. Most spirit world origin stories have the same or similar concepts. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit never didn’t exist. If there is an origin story for God only he knows it. Through God’s infinite capacity for love he created creation. The first created beings are the heavenly beings most of them I would call angels. The further you go down the “rabit hole” you begin to discover different species of created beings and then out of ignorance you may start mislabeling them. Like I know for sure there are angels amongst the heavenly beings, stars, and sons of God. But I’m not sure if all of them are classified as angels if you know what I mean. And if they aren’t angels there are other creators who explore that side of the spirit world more than me.
Amongst the angels you have some “popular” ones like Gabriel, Michael, the cherubim, and the seraphim. The angels are usually grouped together. There is a “host” of them. And they serve God so it makes sense that you wouldn’t know much about them. I know some people are deep into guardian angels. The other angel that is mentioned in the Bible is the devil himself. He is a fallen angel. That would be his spiritual world classification, him and those who rebelled with him. His angelic name is Lucifer. As an angel we know Lucifer was the most beautiful and potentially talented angel. There isn’t a smoking gun for this claim but when you use context clues Lucifer was a musical prodigy. In theory before the fall, he was probably the worship leader/choir director at church in heaven.
He decided that he didn’t want or need the anointing. He didn’t want to worship God. I’m imagining that this handsome brother would stand before heaven, see God, see Jesus, see the Holy Spirit, see the host, and do his job. And somewhere along the line while all of that is happening he uses his free will and thinks to himself that he is the one writing and orchestrating the music. He is the one that has the host moving and grooving. That’s all it takes for evil to have its way with you. As soon as you stop looking at God and start looking at yourself you’re cooked. The enemy was talented, good looking, and effective at what he did; once he saw himself he couldn’t look away.

His pride allowed him to convince a third of the host just like he did Eve, “did God really say…” He offered them a check he couldn’t cash and Jesus says that he saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning. That is the literal fall from grace. The arc of the devil is a universal or spiritual rule: pride comes before the fall. There are several universal or spiritual laws. The law of reciprocity, law of value, law of attraction, law of vibration, law of polarity, gravity, transmutation of energy, law of relativity, and more.
When Lucifer became Satan he fell to earth and once he convinced Eve and subsequently Adam to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he introduced rebellion to earth just as he had done in heaven. This is why everything on this planet dies. The wages of sin is death. Some of you know this already but may not have encountered this information put so plainly. God is spirit-we know the ten commandments. You’ve heard the golden rule before. Another thing that the spirit world has is rules or laws.
The devil is also called the father of confusion. All anything created can ever do is copy who created them. That’s why there is nothing new under the sun. Because God created the sun to govern the earth during the day and humans are derivatives of God. You may do something new to you or otherwise unique but it ain’t brand spanking. When you think of the major acts of God they include creating creation, liberating the Jewish people, sending rain at any given time, and the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus. If the devil wants to be like God he is already behind the curve because he can’t create life. God can create life and the living creatures God created on earth can reproduce themselves. But the chief fallen angel who went against his designed purpose to worship God, now literally wanders aimlessly with only the capacity to steal, kill, and destroy.
The most the devil can do is create disciples. But discipleship is powerful. Most religions encourage discipleship. And from a personal perspective it can be a fulfilling experience to originate and share in an idea(s) with others. In terms of liberating people we know the devil is hell bent on destroying whatever he touches. Another rule or common practice of evil is that it must oppress. How was corrupting a third of the angels beneficial to them? How was introducing the earth to death beneficial to us? All we do is talk about how we are dying every day. The devil doesn’t control the weather-that’s not one of his natural born powers. The only other thing he has planned is an anti-christ figure. The anti-christ is an evil spirit that is against Christianity, against Jesus, against the son of God the Father. The anti-christ spirit is prophesied to manifest itself in a powerful being who will bring tribulation to the earth at the bidding of the devil.
That’s the spirit world, a bunch of rules that govern the actions we take. The reason we don’t see angels and demons running around and fighting around us while we drive on the highway or run our errands, is because there aren’t that many of them and materializing isn’t easy. For us to be here there are several steps in the process from your parents being born, to them becoming who they were by the time they met; to whatever led them to having intercorse, to 9 months later, to several birthdays later. We have to go through all of that meanwhile you want to see something supernatural happen right before your eyes. The reason people must summon demons is because despite being disembodied they can’t teleport or be omni-present like God. And angels can’t be summoned because they obey God not you.
The most spiritual thing you’ll encounter on a daily basis will be another person other than God himself. Understand that your role in the spirit world is to pick a side and do battle in the spiritual war of good and evil. God is on the good side, his pitch is love me and live forever. The devil is on the evil side. I’m not sure what compelling pitch evil could give. I guess evil would say, “what’s love got to do with it?” And to that I would say I get it and you do you, but you can’t be upset about rules to a game you didn’t create. And I can also relate to the self-destructive mindset of well if I can’t live forever and be evil then I’ll just make the most of my time while I’m here. In a universe where free will is one of the founding principles there will be people, places, and things that will choose to not follow God no matter what.
As a spiritual being having a physical experience, use your physical world to make spiritual decisions and be able to use discernment from the spirit to know what decisions you should and shouldn’t make. The grass isn’t greener on the side of evil, they aren’t even trying to advertise that it is. Evil is the spiritual rejection of good for one’s own purposes. It’s pride. It’s sin. These are legal terms not condemnations. Your ability to interpret spiritual matters big or small is how you make life changing decisions for better or for worse. And again, practical spiritual matters are concepts and ideas. People do rituals to and with their concepts and ideas and create religions, but you don’t need a religion to be spiritual-you just need to choose to be more conscious about your decision making.
