Anointing Vs. Appointment

Back in May of 2021 I moved to Texas in search of a better life. It’s hard for me to fully describe even today, but I knew I was unhappy then and that’s not how I wanted to exist. I didn’t feel like myself back in Jersey, my home state. I still have admiration for New Jersey, but after years of being disincentivized to give my honest opinions and resonate fully with my authentic self, when the opportunity to go somewhere that gave me the feeling that it is okay to be me, a feeling that to date has only been solicited from me from one other place, Paris, France, presented itself in the states; while I didn’t jump on the chance to abide in that space immediately, I certainly wasn’t keen to let that feeling escape.

I came to Texas on a wing and a prayer. I had a savings account and some time; that’s it. The plan was to generate cash flow before I ran out of money. That didn’t happen. I went broke. I got evicted from my apartment. I talk about this in my award winning book, “Get Your Mind Right”, also I’ve mentioned it in other content before. It’s not a glamorous story, but it’s mine. And if I don’t tell it you’ll only have a tertiary story about me and my life from people who don’t know who I am. A couple years after that experience I became even more radicalized than I already was.
