An Overview of Economics

Humans have a propensity for work. Even in the most controlled environment you will likely find something to do. It’s that busy nature about us that solicits us to create or work. Additionally work serves a practical purpose as well in relation to the production and fulfillment of goods and services. The challenge in this state of affairs is organizing the things people do and create. Generally, there are millions upon billions of humans on earth at any one given time. Historically in an arguably considerably better situation, people could specialize in the creation of a good or service and monopolize or have a larger share of that market within a local community.

The benefit of this would have been the ability to keep trade centralized, which would have allowed for a more robust but also smaller, yet arguably more beneficial and fulfilling economy and society. What also has happened historically over time in that same context is people leave their village, home, and town. People create cities, and or they charter new lands. For all these various people from different backgrounds and walks of life to trade with one another, a solution that has been consistently deployed is currency.
