So much has happened. We had our mid-year meeting scheduled for Thursday of last week. I finished Sunday, and now I am getting around to writing and publishing the article. We decided not to do a Newsletter today because I want to get this out of the way. We like to start with our mission statement. Life with Ken is a lifestyle brand that focuses on living more confidently. The way we do that is by empowering individuals through our content and product offerings. The first half of this year we focused on updating our SEO, consistency, and we took spring break.
I am happy to say that our viewership and traffic is the highest it’s ever been organically. Meaning without any paid advertising. Obviously we are hoping to continue this trend. At the top of the year we published an article on how to approach marketing in 2025. That has been guiding some of how we do things and in that article I emphasize delivering on your deliverables. Life with Ken has been desiring to scale up for some time now. We want a studio, to produce some more video content, and improve our overall offering and experience.
As of right now we are on the verge of stepping into that reality. Obviously funding is an important part to all of this. As some of you know I’ve personally been through some hardships. I have endured for at least the last three years. Now, despite still enduring in some capacity, I am more optimistic about the end of this season for me. One of the sticking points for my optimism is one of the themes for this review.
I realized that I am in a place now that I haven’t been since the onset of my hardships. To me this represents a reset and a recommitment. No, things are not exactly the same to how they were before I got to this place in life. But, when I remember what my original goals were right now I can execute. This is the first time in three years. Based on my interpretation of my lived experience, returning to this place is a form of affirmation for me. It suggests that I should and or need to get realigned with the original game plan.
So, that’s what I’ve decided to do. I am recommitting to my purpose and I’m allowing that to overflow into the Life with Ken brand. Prior to now and this is reflected in previous business reviews, particularly last year’s, my focus was misaligned for certain reasons and that reflected in how I approached Life with Ken. Now, following my recent realignment, I realize that, that wasn’t supposed to be the case. I conflated that I created Life with Ken with the idea that this platform would create opportunities for me.
By the grace of God I created an opportunity for it. This is a meaningful understanding because had I been more considerate of what it takes to create a movement like this, I may have operated differently and ended up in a different position sooner. With that understanding out of the way I am going to succinctly share what you can expect from the Life with Ken brand from mid-year until our full year review in the fall and what I, Kenneth Wyche, hope to accomplish to support the materialization of those goals.
Our goal as a business for the year is revenue. This would be a good step in the right direction. We plan on achieving this goal in various ways. Firstly, we will be focusing on promoting our legacy courses, “Actualize Yourself” and the “Financial Literacy Course.” Course content is decidedly an important part of our offerings. We don’t plan on having a lot of courses but these two courses represent an abundance of relevant information that is both evergreen and low maintenance. To me this means they are good products. The content in them is basically always relevant and the upkeep they require is relatively low.
With courses depending on the topic, you may want to make sure your information is up to date. For us, we have found that the updating process can sometimes take up a lot of time and while we value having courses we also don’t want to be overly burdened by them. We will be putting our courses in a more visible place on the website, as well as creating some more promotional content for them. With regard to marketing we are taking on a holistic approach with new content that will hopefully do the work of captivating interest and broadening our audience.
We will also be updating our paid Life with Ken on Substack features, particularly we plan on getting a new voiceover application. This will enhance user experience and encourage continued buy-in. We have a little bit of SEO left that we need to do as well which will serve the purpose of making our content easier to reach online. The good thing about SEO is that it’s accumulative so when we go on periods of editing SEO, it’s not necessarily because we are starting from scratch, but rather, we have new assets that need to be optimized.
That was the case with this round of SEO that we’ve been doing. If I had more time then, maybe we could have finished sooner, but we have had a host of assets to optimize since the beginning of this year, so, it’s also exciting to be almost complete with this process. Finally, the big roll out that we are planning is Life with Ken Coaching.
LWK Coaching
The details are few at the moment but more information will come soon. That said, we plan to have this up relatively soon so expect a torrent of information in a short period of time. Life with Ken Coaching will be our lifestyle coaching offering. I’ve dabbled in coaching before but it didn’t stick. I am returning to it because when I dabbled I wasn’t serious enough about it, and some of the more common feedback that I get from various people and platforms, is that they would be interested in lifestyle coaching.
This is something that after much thought, I am happy to oblige, given various parameters. Right now we are working out those parameters. This is going to be a premium offering from Life with Ken and some of the parameters being worked out include framework, clientele, availability, adaptability, logistics, so on and so forth. Again we are hoping to have this stuff hashed out soon so stay tuned!
Another thing we plan on leveraging for the purpose of growing our audience and revenue is recommendations. Referrals and recommendations is something I’ve been thinking about, as well as something some members of the Life with Ken community have been asking for. It would have been nice to roll this out with this mid-year review, however, we weren’t ready to do so yet. With our referral program there are special giveaways and incentives for participants. We may even include cash incentives. Based on this mid-year we have a lot coming down the pike from quality of life improvements, product promotions, new videos and marketing content, recommendations and referrals, and Life with Ken Coaching.
Now, to conclude this mid-year review I want to share how I will do my best to support the initiatives of Life with Ken. Firstly, I want to make sure that I keep cashflow. You have to spend money to make money and you need to have money to spin money. Life with Ken is my responsibility. Yes, I want to sell products and get donations, but at the end of the day a parent feeds their own kid. I need to make sure that whether we do or don’t have revenue, Life with Ken can continue to operate, otherwise we definitely won’t have revenue.
The next thing I want to do is to continue to aid in the effort of finding some studio space. We need somewhere where we can increase our production quality. A stretch goal is to maybe get a videographer and editor. But there you have it, these are our goals going into the next few months. Show your support by donating to our cause. We will also be rolling out some donation rewards as well. There is a lot coming up in the next few months! Thank you for your attention on this matter and considering Life with Ken’s 2025 mid-year review.
