What does humility and being humble have to do with privilege? Privilege is a granted right-things you are allowed to do just on the strength of being you. Because you are you or are part of a certain group you have the privilege to do xyz. In law, a privilege is revocable. Generally speaking, a privilege is granted by a higher power and or authority. You can mishandle your privilege.
This is mainly a byproduct of hubris. It can be easy to take privilege for granted. This is why being humble is the other side of the same coin when discussing this topic. What if privilege was evenly distributed across all people in the world? When you put your privilege on a pedestal you can develop a since of entitlement. You’re special where you live but go to another city. Visit another town with an expectation of doors being opened for you, and you will walk into a lot of doors.
