Success is Not for the Faint of Heart

Why do you do what you do? When you exert yourself you are applying your life force to your efforts. Every day you are one day closer to your death than the day before. You accelerate that process with your work. This is called a slow death. As we are all slowly dying and our work can potentially speed up that process, why do you do what you do? Sprinkle on top of that, that maybe 95% of the things in this world do not fundamentally matter and some people could marvel at why we even get out of bed at all.

The Bible says that God has given us the business of busy-ness. We are all just busy for the sake of it. Whatever you do to make a living probably intrinsically does not matter. That does not mean it’s not important, but when you’re dead who cares about the relative importance of something. Other humans have orchestrated life to make it feel as though certain things are real. Take money for example, fundamentally unreal, but all everyone does is try to acquire as much of it as possible. But here comes that question again: for what?
