Get and Stay in Your Lane

You are a created being. When a sperm inseminates an egg it creates a life. You are that creation. When something is created it has characteristics that make it a creation. A movie for example is the amalgamation or byproduct of a script, a producer, a director, a cast, camera crew etc.

Creation does not exist without an injection of intention. There is a reason and purpose why things exist. There is a reason and purpose why you exist.

A created thing has a DNA and a structure about it. A Nintendo Switch is not a PlayStation 5. They are both game systems and occupy a similar space; but you cannot play Mario on a PlayStation. A Toyota Corolla is not a Maserati MC20. They’re both cars but the intrinsic “DNA” about them are different.

As a human, you share that distinction with eight billion other people on planet earth. Where you differ is in the things that make you a created being. Your parents are not my parents. Your experiences are not my experiences. While we both may have goals, yours are likely to be different or at least dissimilar to mine. This is because a specific creation has its own unique composition. As this relates to your life, part of your creation implies a predestination.

Your creation has a purpose. Your existence has a meaning. One of the worst things you can do in life is go against what you are created for. Have you ever done something that did not feel right? That’s exactly what I am talking about. Imagine using a laptop to wash dishes. Or using a dish towel to type an essay.

When you do things that are contrary to your design you will fail. Have you ever used a coat hanger to hammer a nail? Being a creation means you have a specific use case. You have an intentional design, a way in which you are supposed to work and function.

One of the best things you can do for yourself in this life is get and stay in your lane. Do the thing that you were created to do. Be the person you were created to be. Being yourself is such a blessing because you are the only you that will ever exist. Think for a moment about the people that you have and have yet to impact. Someone in this world needs you to be you. Unashamed and undiluted.

Sometimes it can be difficult for you to know who you are supposed to be because we live in a world where people, places, and things are constantly telling us who we should be. Regardless of all that noise however, you have an inner voice.

Start listening to yourself more often. Even if you are wrong. Being wrong and believing in yourself is better than being right and forsaking yourself. You can always admit when you’re wrong but recapturing your integrity can sometimes be difficult.

The components of your creation will tell you who you are supposed to be. What makes you, you will show you what you should be doing with your life. Once you find yourself, go with your flow. Be who you are. What is for you will come to you when you allow it to. Stop fighting or going against what makes you, you. Embrace yourself.

Getting and staying in your lane means honing your craft. It means that while other people may be zigging or zagging, you are staying focused. It means having revelation about your life. Just because life says you are only qualified to do one of three things, if your inner voice keeps telling you to do something else, then get in your lane and do it. The other thing to note here is that you do not need a cult following to be yourself.

You can be yourself by yourself. Go get alone. Stop being afraid of spending time with yourself. What are you concerned will happen? The reason your life is all over the place is because you are all over the place. Stability and chaos are antonyms. When you function how you are designed to, you operate at an optimal level.

A caveat to this is sometimes who we are suppose to be can come as a shock. You may have goals and aspirations for your life that may be contrary to how your life is suppose to operate. Think of it like a windows computer running IOS. If you ever find yourself in this situation where who you are and who you would like to be are different, learn to accept who you are. Who you are is your lane.

Who you want to be is not wrong necessarily but that is where the work comes in. You have to learn to be who you want to be in the context of who you are. Maybe you want to be a cool sports car driver, but you are a family person and need something safe and economical. Do not fight with yourself, learn how to find a satisfying solution.

You do not need to be good at solving everyone’s problems, but you should be good at solving your own. When you allow yourself to be yourself, what everyone else is doing will not matter. Staying in your lane also means minding your business.

When you are on the road and you see someone else in a car next to you, sure they are on the road too, but you do not know whether or not they have the radio on, what they are thinking about or where they are coming from. When you are doing you, you will be too busy to care about what others are doing. The only people obsessed with other people are the ones that do not have anything going for themselves.

Go get a life. Stop trying to figure stuff out and just do something. Mistakes are for people who want to fulfill their purpose. No one and nothing is safe. Stop being timid.

Who cares what someone has to say. If they are not writing you a check or sending you to heaven or hell then their opinion does not matter. They are just mad because they do not have the gumption to get in their lane. Stop waiting to merge, the road is clear, get on it already.
