I love a good cleanse and detox. When you talk about healthy living, there is nothing healthier than cleaning out and strengthening your system. Here are my three simple and easy detoxes that will provide added benefit to your health and well being:
1. Lemon Water Detox
This is probably the simplest one on the list! Lemon water detoxes are great because in addition to being easy to make, it has a multitude of health benefits. It is a great source for vitamin C, promotes weight loss, helps with digestion, and improves skin and oral health.
I typically do this detox at least two to three times a week. To make it, all you need is a fresh lemon and water. I typically use a whole lemon, but it is perfectly acceptable to use a half of a lemon as well. Add the fresh juice from the lemon into eight ounces of either warm or cold water and drink up.
I like to do this detox in the morning. I will have my lemon water detox first thing in the morning, and that is it. From there I abstain from food specifically carbs and fats until 12pm. I will allow myself fresh fruit specifically blueberries or strawberries after I finish the detox but no substantial food until after 12.
I do this because I want to fully reap the rewards of the detox, and if I were to eat while drinking it, I would diminish some of its health properties. So for me, I prefer doing this one on an empty stomach. When its time for me to eat, I usually ease into my day with eggs or yogurt, something that can easily be digested to get myself going.
If you want to give this detox a health boost, you can also add ginger or turmeric to it. Ginger is great for muscle health including your heart, your mental health, your reproductive system, and can help prevent cancer. Turmeric helps with anti-inflammation, increased brain functionality, combating aging, and reducing levels of depression.
After this detox I am lighter on my feet, I feel purified if you will, and am ready to face my day head on.
2. Nutrilite Twist Tubes 2GO
Okay now I know this is not necessarily a traditional “Detox” however, I think this product is amazing and since I have started using it, it has done wonders for my health. The Nutrilite Twist Tubes 2GO are jam packed with health benefits. They help with immune health, joint health, and antioxidant health.
They are made with all-natural ingredients and full of vitamins like vitamin A, C, B1, B2 and B6. They also have Glucosamine, which is great for mobility and flexibility. These are more of an afternoon staple for myself; and I typically have them around two to three days a week as well.
Because I only drink water for the most part, it is nice every now and again to change things up, and it is great to have these as an option. Typically, after having one I am revitalized, my energy will have comeback, and I get a second wind for the rest of my day. They are also extremely easy to use as well: just twist and drip, and you are all set.
3. The Apple Cider Vinegar Detox
This detox to me is the mother of all detoxes. It is no secret that apple cider vinegar has a multitude of health benefits including increased potassium intake, weight control, promoting pH balance, the removal of toxins from the body, and healthy skin.
Apple cider vinegar is known for being a common at home remedy and using it as a detox can take it to another level. This detox simply calls for two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, preferably unfiltered, eight ounces of warm or cold water, a teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a teaspoon of either honey, or a healthy sweetener of your choice.
Cinnamon has a plethora of health benefits as well. It is loaded with antioxidants, helps with heart disease, lowers blood sugar levels, promotes mental health, and protects against cancer. Your choice of sweetener is to add a little flavor to this concoction, which can be a little abrasive because of the vinegar.
You can also swap out the cinnamon for cayenne, and or add lemon. Like I said, to me, this is the detox of all detox, this drink literally has medicinal properties. As such, I do not do this detox too frequently. On average I will do this one once a week to once every two weeks. If you feel so inclined this detox can be done daily, I have done it daily before as well.
Detoxes are great for cleaning out your body, absorbing nutrients and promoting your overall health. I challenge you to commit to detoxing for a week straight and see how it impacts your health. It does not have to be any of the ones I mentioned in this post, there are several others out there, but these are the ones I like, and have found to be most effective for me.
I encourage you to commit a full week of detox so that you can develop the habit first. Then you could taper off to a few times a week. Either way I want you to live a happy and fulfilled life, and that means doing what you can to take care of your physical health. I want you to be wealthy, and health is wealth. Doing a detox regularly will give the health and energy boost you need to be the best you possible every day.
I want to hear from you! Let me know in the comment section below if you got value from this post.
